PYP Exhibition: Grade 5 Students Turn Inquiry into Action
Grade 5 students explored environmental challenges and shared how informed choices can contribute to a more sustainable future.
How can young people respond to some of the environmental challenges shaping our world? At this yearās PYP Exhibition, Grade 5 students explored this question through projects examining recycling, fast fashion, global warming and other issues affecting the planet.
The exhibition represented the culmination of an extended learning journey. Students investigated subjects that mattered to them, considered information from different perspectives and developed ways to communicate their findings clearly. Presenting their work also gave them an opportunity to answer questions, explain their thinking and reflect on how their understanding had developed.
As an important part of the Primary Years Programme, the exhibition brings together skills developed throughout the PYP, including inquiry, research, communication, self-management and reflection. It also encourages students to recognise that learning can lead to responsible action.
Thank you to the teachers, families and other members of the IST community who guided and supported the students. Most importantly, congratulations to Grade 5 for approaching complex questions with curiosity, creativity and genuine concern for the future.
