MYP English Language & Literature Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced IB MYP English Language & Literature Teacher to join our vibrant faculty in August 2026. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic educator who embraces the IB philosophy and is committed to inspiring students in their engagement with language, literature, and critical thinking.

Role & Responsibilities

As an IB English Language & Literature Teacher, you will:

  • Teach English Language & Literature in the Middle Years Programme (MYP) with the possibility to teach English Support Lessons (ESL).
  • Plan and deliver engaging, inquiry-based lessons that promote critical thinking, source analysis, and global awareness.
  • Guide students in developing key skills, including research, argumentation, and understanding of historical and contemporary contexts.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary units and curriculum materials aligned with IB standards.
  • Integrate technology and modern teaching strategies to enhance learning experiences.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages reflection, discussion, and open-mindedness.
  • Provide individualised feedback to help students meet their academic potential.
  • Participate in relevant extracurricular or project-based learning opportunities.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with IB methodologies and trends in global education.

Qualifications:

  • Masterโ€™s degree in Literature, English Language, or a related field.
  • Teaching certification and/or qualifications.
  • English language proficiency at C2 or native speaker level.
  • Proven experience teaching Language & Literature or related subjects at the secondary level.
  • Familiarity with the IB MYP curriculum and assessment practices.
  • A strong understanding of inquiry-based learning and interdisciplinary teaching approaches.

  • Creative and flexible approach to teaching, catering to a range of learning styles and needs.
