Childcare
International School of Tallinn (IST) offers flexible childcare services for children aged 2 to 7. The service is available every working day, excluding public holidays, from 8:00 to 18:00 at Valukoja 9, Tallinn. We are also open during school breaks and throughout the summer.
Children attending our childcare service take part in a variety of educational and play-based activities that support their cognitive and social development. The languages of communication are Estonian and English, helping children develop bilingual skills in a supportive and natural environment.
Outdoor play is an essential part of our daily routine. Children go outside twice a day: in the morning and in the afternoon.

Pick-up
Clothing and Essentials
We kindly ask parents to ensure that their child has weather-appropriate outdoor clothing, as outdoor activities will also take place during light rain. For added convenience, the school has drying cabinets available for wet clothes.
To help your child feel comfortable, please provide the following items:
indoor shoes, a spare set of clothes, including underwear, a T-shirt, tights or trousers, socks, and a sweatshirt or jumper, a water bottle.
Meals
Children are provided with lunch and an afternoon snack during the day.
Alternatively, children may bring their own food from home if preferred. In addition, a short snack break takes place from 09:45 to 10:00, when children can enjoy healthy snacks brought from home, such as fruit and vegetables.

Pre-registration is required to use the childcare service.
Registration is open until 18:00 on the previous working day. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept children without prior registration.

Why did you use ISTโs hourly childcare service?
I spend most of my time at home with my 2-year-old child, but from time to time, I need to be more actively involved in my professional life. For this reason, I needed to find a place where my child could be cared for for a few hours.

The booking system was convenient and logical. I did not experience any issues when making a booking on a computer. However, on mobile, there were a couple of less intuitive steps, which I have already shared feedback on earlier: selecting the childโs date of birth and choosing the childcare time.
