IST Curriculum
The curriculum at the International School of Tallinn (IST) is based on internationally recognized IB (International Baccalaureate) programmes. IB education aims to promote international mindedness in our students, helping them become responsible global citizens who understand various cultures, speak several languages fluently, are skillful with modern technology, solve complicated challenges, and collaborate across borders.
IB Programmes at IST
Primary Years Programme (PYP):
- Focuses on the development of the whole child as an inquirer, both in the classroom and in the world outside.
- Encourages a transdisciplinary approach to learning.
Middle Years Programme (MYP):
- Provides a framework of academic challenge that encourages students to make practical connections between their studies and the real world.
- Emphasizes intellectual challenge and encourages students to make connections between their studies and the real world.
Diploma Programme (DP):
- A rigorous pre-university course of study designed to address the intellectual, social, emotional, and physical well-being of students.
- Recognized and respected by the world’s leading universities.
