Extracurricular Activities

At IST, we offer a range of after school activities across different subjects: sports, arts & music, and IT. All activities are scheduled from Monday to Friday, between 14:05 and 17:00. Our activities are not exclusive to IST pupils: all students in Tallinn (of appropriate ages) are welcome to join. This year IST is partnering with NutiGeen, a specialized hobby school, to offer robotics lessons to kids aged 6 – 12. Robotics instructor, Triin Laats, is a trained primary years professional who will teach pupils to program a range of different robots including Lego Wedo 2, Edison robot, Ozobot Evo & Bit.

When: Thursdays, 14:10 – 15:10

Group size: min 8 pupils



One of IST’s talented students, Uthman from grade 12, has started a programming club for IST pupils in grades 6 to 12. Uthman teaches the basics of programming languages and guides pupils in creating a website. This activity is free.

When: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 16h– 17h

Age group: 12 – 19 years old





Coach Christos Patsias is back to teach indoor football to boys and girls aged 6+. Trainings happen at the fully equipped Ülemiste Gym, just across the parking lot from IST (where we also hold our PE lessons).

When: Mondays, 15:00 – 16:00

Age group: 6+ years old

Christos Patsias offers students aged 8+ a range of board games to develop their strategy skills (while having a lot of fun!). Games include: Catan, Stone Age, Pandemic, among many others.

When: Thursdays, 16:00 – 17:30

Badminton instructor, Ms. Ana Linnamagi, is an experienced player and coach, who has won many competitions. She trains kids aged +7, from beginners to players with some experience. Our gym is equipped for this activity, but please note pupils joining will be asked to purchase a set of rackets.

When: Wed and Fri, 16:00 – 17:30

IST teacher Iryna Kozii offers creativity and self expression exercises in this course designed for students in grades 1 to 3.

When: Tuesdays, 14:10 – 15:00

Age group: 6 – 9 years old



Ms. Mari-Liis Uibo is a classically trained violinist with degrees from Estonia and abroad. Violin is taught to groups of 4 to ensure all pupils receive individual attention.

When: Wednesdays, 15:00 – 15:45

Group size: max 4 pupils



Mr. Gabriel Guido is a pianist from Costa Rica who came to Estonia to pursue his Master’s degree at Estonian Academy of Music and Theater. He offers individual piano lessons for pupils aged 6+. Time slots available from: Tue to Fri, 14:05 – 17:00.
