IB PROGRAMS

THE PRIMARY YEARS PROGRAMME

IST is officially authorized by IBO to offer the Primary Years Programme. The programme focuses on developing inquiry-based learning and international-mindedness.

The curriculum is built around six core inquiries for students aged 3 to 12: inquiries into who we are, rights and responsibilities, how we discover and express ideas, the natural world and scientific principles, and other topics outlined in the PYP Program Model.

At IST, we promote knowledge exchange between Primary grades and students including weekly assemblies, where teachers and students showcase works prepared in class and students are acknowledged for their learning efforts, as well as weekly buddy reading sessions. Our practices and values are designed to promote the IB learner attributes:

  • Inquirers
  • Knowledgeable
  • Thinkers
  • Communicators
  • Principled
  • Open-minded
  • Caring
  • Risk-takers
  • Balanced
  • Reflective
